Solar Fabrik has been a Tier 1 manufacturer
since Q4 2022
German manufacturer Solar Fabrik was ranked as a Tier 1 solar module manufacturer for the first time by Bloomberg New Energy Finance in Q4 2022. This was immediately followed by renewed awards in the first two quarters of 2023.
What requirements does a Tier 1
company meet?
The Bloomberg New Energy Finance (BNEF) ranking was established to provide transparent differentiation among the numerous PV manufacturers in the market. The Tier 1 Manufacturer title is one of the most recognized awards a company can achieve. The bankability of the respective manufacturers is compared for classification. Companies receive the Tier 1 title if they have financed six different projects over 1.5 MW from six different banks in the last two years with their own brand and production. In addition, the banks are not involved in development and must act on a non-recourse basis. The assessment is based on completed projects stored in the BNEF database.

Since the takeover in 2016, we have been working continuously to improve our products and expand our projects. Now our efforts have paid off. In the fourth quarter of 2022 we did it for the first time and were included in the Tier 1 listing of Bloomberg New Energy Finance.
Now Solar Fabrik is officially a Tier 1 manufacturing company. The Tier 1 listing includes around 20 global PV manufacturers.
CEO Christian Laibacher said: “I am very proud that Solar Fabrik is listed as a Tier 1 manufacturer. Our work and our high quality standards pay off. I am particularly pleased to have received the award as one of the few German PV manufacturers.”
What does this mean for

The high demands we place on We Do Solar products and the continuous product tests have enabled us to qualify for the Tier 1 manufacturer list. Another key factor is the growing awareness and demand for We Do Solar. Last year we recorded an enormous sales volume of 700 MW in Germany alone. We Do Solar is also represented internationally.
According to a Solar Reviews article, one difference between Tier 2 and Tier 1 manufacturers is the reliability of the warranties. We Do Solar modules in "Classic Quality" have a 25-year performance guarantee and the innovative double-glass module in "First Class Quality" has a performance guarantee of 30 years. We are now pleased to be able to additionally prove our performance guarantee with the new award.
